Our Team

Kevin Groom, Clinical Neuropsychologist Ph.D.

Dr. Kevin Groom is a licensed psychologist specializing in Clinical Neuropsychology. He completed his postdoctoral training in clinical neuropsychology at Comprehensive Community Rehabilitation Services in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as well as at Tulsa Developmental Pediatrics and Center for Family Psychology. He completed an APA Division 40 predoctoral internship in clinical neuropsychology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He has Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Arts degrees in clinical psychology from the University of Tulsa (APA accredited) as well as a bachelor of arts in both psychology and international relations from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. He has published research articles on topics such as health psychology, brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease, and stroke. He specializes in assessment of cognitive dysfunction in persons who have sustained neurological damage such as brain injury, stroke, and dementia and is currently involved in clinical research trials involving the scope of his specialties. He sees adults, adolescents and children (6 and above).

T. Katie Perry, APRN Psychiatic Nurse Practitioner

Katie Perry, APRN is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degree from The University of Southern Mississippi; she has been practicing as a nurse practitioner since 2017. Katie specializes in adult ADHD, anxiety, depression, insomnia, LGBTQIA+ issues, and religious trauma. She is deeply dedicated to making sure her patients feel seen, heard, and safe. She understands that treatment should be tailored to the individual; there is no “one size fits all” version of mental healthcare. She is available for in-person appointments at our downtown Pensacola location, and is also able to provide telehealth appointments if needed. In her free time Katie enjoys cooking delicious vegan food, playing various musical instruments, and spending time on the beach with her wife.

Erik Sternung, ARNP, PMHNP-BC

Erik Sternung is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (American Nurses Credentialing Center). He studied psychology at Wake Forest University in North Carolina and nursing at the University of South Alabama. Erik interned in the Bahvioral/Mental Health department of the VA Joint Ambulatory Care Center in Pensacola, Florida, as well as in the Emergency Medicine department at Gulf Breeze Hospital. Mr. Sternung has extensive experience with diagnosing and treating adults and children with behavioral health disorders in acute and long-term psychiatric care, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He has provided consultation/liasion services at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze Hospital. Erik Sternung comes to Anchor Clinic with 15 years of experience with patients of all ages struggling with psychiatric illness. In association with the University of South Florida’s Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute, Erik is a member of a state and national expert panel charged with updating the Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Medication Guidelines for the following diagnoses: ADHD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, impulsive aggression, disruptive behavior disorders, OCD, tics, sleep disorders, PTSD in young children and early-onset schizophrenia.
